When you reach an important milestone in life, it’s worth a modest pat on the back. So it is with Washington Crossroads Magazine. This is our 1st anniversary of publication. And like mothers anywhere, we are intensely proud of our offspring.
Any birth is likely to be difficult, and this was no exception. At first, we worried about its chances of growing up, and later, about whether it would be strong and independent. In reality, we had nothing to be concerned about. Washington Crossroads is here to stay, and its success has everything to do with its acceptance in the community.
Washington Crossroads survives, and each issue is read and talked about because it found its place in the hearts and minds of residents, local businesses, and even occasional visitors. It has been accepted because it has something to say to residents. It has picked up the pulse of the community.
Our job is to keep finding the pulse, so that we can take the opportunity each anniversary to give ourselves a gentle pat on the back. Perhaps it is our way to say thank you for supporting our endeavors. Washington Crossroads has grown up, and we’re both proud and a little sad that it’s no longer our precious little child.
